DEVOLIN ANNOUNCES CELEBRATE CANADA FUNDING FOR GALWAY-CAVENDISH AND HARVEY TOWNSHIP

GALWAY-CAVENDISH AND HARVEY - Local MP Barry Devolin, on behalf of the Honourable Bev Oda, Minister for Canadian Heritage, is proud to announce a total of $1000 for three separate Celebrate Canada projects in Galway-Cavendish and Harvey Township.

The money will be divided up to help cover the costs Canada Day celebrations at the Buckhorn Community Centre, the Kinmount Fairgrounds and the Cavendish Community Centre. Events include such things as children’s activities, live entertainment, fireworks and a parade.

“Celebrate Canada activities have become a tradition offering Canadians the opportunity to share their pride in their country,” said Devolin. “The success of these events is due, in great part, to the volunteer members who work tirelessly to ensure each Canadian has an opportunity to enjoy local celebrations.”

I’d like to thank Pat Kemp and all the staff at the Township of Galway-Cavendish and Harvey for their hard work and their successful application for funding,” stated Devolin. “Having the opportunity to thank people for their hard work and commitment to making our communities better is one of the most rewarding things that I do as your MP.”

“Canada Day is an opportunity to gather in our communities, from coast to coast to coast, and to proudly celebrate all we have in common,” said Devolin. “It is an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, which were born in the audacious vision and shared values of our ancestors, and which are voiced in nearly all of the languages of the world through the contribution of new Canadians. “
