DEVOLIN
SHOCKED BY CLOSURE OF PROMENS PLANT
November 13, 2007
LINDSAY – Local MP
Barry Devolin was shocked to learn that Promens Canada plans to
close their Lindsay facility. Earlier this week, about 80 local
employees were told that the former Bonair Plastics plant will close
in early 2008.
“This
is a very difficult situation,” said Devolin. “Earlier today, I
spoke with a good friend who has worked at the plant for more than
20 years. My thoughts are with his and every employees’ family as
they deal with this devastating announcement – especially just a
month before the holiday season.”
Devolin
said that he has been in contact with MPP Laurie Scott and Mayor Ric
McGee. “In the coming weeks and months, we will work together and
do whatever we can to help the employees and the community through
this difficult time.”
