DEVOLIN ANNOUNCES $2,450 IN CELEBRATE CANADA FUNDING FOR GALWAY-CAVENDISH-HARVEY TOWNSHIP

GALWAY-CAVENDISH AND HARVEY - Local MP Barry Devolin, on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, is proud to announce a total of $2,450 for two separate Celebrate Canada projects in Galway-Cavendish-Harvey Township.

The Buckhorn Community Centre will receive $1,150 while the Towship of Galway-Cavendish-Harvey will get $1,300 to help cover some of the costs of their Canada Day celebrations. Events include such things as children’s activities, live entertainment, fireworks and a parade.

“Celebrate Canada activities have become a tradition offering Canadians the opportunity to share their pride in their country,” said Devolin. “The success of these events is due, in great part, to the volunteer members who work tirelessly to ensure each Canadian has an opportunity to enjoy local celebrations.”

“I’d like to thank Lynn Holtz at the Township of Galway-Cavendish-Harvey and Judy McWhirter at the Buckhorn Community Centre for their hard work and their successful applications for funding,” stated Devolin. “Having the opportunity to thank people for their hard work and commitment to making our communities better is one of the most rewarding things that I do as your MP.”

“Canada Day is an opportunity to gather in our communities, from coast to coast to coast, and to proudly celebrate all we have in common,” said Devolin.
